It takes a bit of special care to keep these lustrous gems in prime condition. Pearls are relatively soft, meaning their surface can be damaged easily. Since other gemstones and metals can scratch the surface, we recommend storing pearls separately from other jewelry. When travelling or transporting your pearls, stay away from plastic bags since the chemicals emitted within can harm the surface. A great alternative would be a soft pouch.
During your morning routine, leave your pearls for the very last step. Apply perfumes, hair products, makeup, and lotions beforehand as pearls are also sensitive to those. And when taking your pearls off for the day, use a soft, damp cloth to clean them.
